Artists Loris Cecchini and Giovanni Ozzola has been invited to give take part of this project: the first one intervenes in Santa Croce, "capital" of the tanning district, known around the world for its companies and for the production and materials processing. The second one works in Pisa, a city rich of intangible resources like the historical presence of universities and research institutes, companies which export their products and their know-how all over the world. In Loris Cecchini’s work, various materials are constantly intertwined in a research that deals with the materials’physical characteristics, transfiguring them in a constant dialectic between art and science.
Objects that liquefy showing dysfunctionality, walls that animate as liquid surfaces (following the laws of physics), inorganic that becomes organic, elements of nature continually hybridized through their re-thinking through cognitive processes (of which the design is the primary instrument), all those elements return the image of a world of nature in which man moves, builds, designs, builds. Cecchini acknowledges the leather - the material produced by Superior S.p.A. and destined to the world of fashion and luxury - as a peculiar material of the whole area (the municipalities of Castelfranco di Sotto, Montopoli Valdarno, Santa Croce, Santa Maria Monte and San Miniato, Pisa province and Fucecchio, Florence province).
From a first meeting between Giovanni Ozzola and IDS Systems Engineering has quickly become evident an essential concept that is crossed with some work by Ozzola: invisibility. The invisible is the unknown, an underlying dimension of fears and anxieties, desires, research. There is, on the other hand, a scientific research dimension processing instruments, functional systems to human activities. On this double track raise the work developed by the meeting between Ozzola and IDS. An entire sector of the enterprise research is aimed at the production of detection technologies. These technologies are used for the production of radar but depart from the study of special objects forms to make vessels and arei visible or invisible to electromagnetic waves. From these forms were born a series of sculptures where materials deals with "invisibility".The exhibition also features a map where Ozzola shows the air traffic recorded by a radar placed in Pisa and displays, in a time span, the heavens in a radius of 200 km. Most of the artist's work focuses on the theme of travel, raised for the knowledge for an outer and inner world, sometimes obscure, unclear, full of personal uncertainties. The map is not generated from documents, rather by sophisticated detection systems that make routes visible, however are dictated by many needs that remain to us difficult to access. All the exhibition includes the most recent artist productions which tells about the discovery, the journey, the desire to map and make facts accessible. Traces of personal trips that become heritage of the community and, in this transit, adquiring scientificity but maintaining an uncertain poetic aura.

The artist made a series of tables showing reliefs of this territory. Starting with a work plan, he rethinks the concept of territory making a large map sculpure, whose surface is moved, the findings and plans covered by leather. Not a functional table or a geographic map, this object, keeping the precious nature of the material, is transfigured, becoming uncertain and ambiguous.
Not only administrative and geographical territories but complex mechanisms of relationship within the community, the economy, social phenomena, wealth, reference values. Everything exhibited by Loris Cecchini at Villa Pacchiani Exhibition Center moves on the paradox, on the object dysfunctionality, free from functionanlism, is open to multiple meanings. Leather, glass, steel, plastic, surprises for their ususual behavior and are camouflaged on the walls, recreating organic shapes, losing and gaining consistency, gradually building the emotional agglomerations that arise in relation to the place, to the space.
