The placement of the new auditorium creates a new central square in the urban settlement of the agriculture school Plantahof. The high façade holds together the new piazza. The inner space of the auditorium lies in half-light. Two windows facing each other define the inner space and allow the view from the new piazza towards the axis of the Prättigau valley. A thin, dark coloured, concrete wall stretches over pillars and beams like a tent. These elements find support outside the building by penetrating its walls. The structure defines an equal combination between a skeleton construction system and a massive one. The result is a hybrid of pillars and walls, expressing an architectural thinking and giving character to the building. The new auditorium is multifunctional and has a capacity of 130 until 180 seats. In addition to its classical use, the new hall allows different kind of events like seminars, congresses or stage discussions.
