What is your favourite colour? What color does your products identify with the most?
My favourite colour is green, I like all its nuances; they make me feel serene when I look at them.
The colours which are most distinctive of my objects are: pink, acid yellow, sage green and light blue.

Light, material, colour: how do the three elements dialogue in your projects?
My objects centre on these characteristics. The material is very important to me, especially the study of It, to be able to use it in the best possible way, and to create objects capable of appealing to our emotions. Light derives from colour, they are very near relations. Light, in its turn, enable us to perceive colour. Our lives are closely bound to colour; it is sometimes sufficient to calibrate and codify the hues in order to abuse it, because a wrong shade of colour can lead to reactions. For instance, if yellow is not carefully calibrated it can In the long run lead to a true form of madness.

How much does the colour count for the commercial success of a product?
Colour is very important, it has a great commercial potential. The same is true of form and function, but colour very often prevails because it Is the first element that appeals to the buyer’s desire to acquire something.

What role does colour play when designing a product, and in particular for your inDito and beauTONI?
Colour plays a fundamental role in my products; without it, I could not get my message across and catch the attention of the people who eventually buy them. The first experiment which made me understand this took place with inDITO. This object was immediately very successful in the two first versions, in gold and platinum, but immediately afterwards I took the chance of producing it in the colours I enjoy most: sage green, light blue, acid yellow, pink, bottle green, turquoise, red. As a result, inDITO became wildly successful. BeauTONI is a different story, because the choice of using colour was already consolidated; I have only codified the pastel shades that I deemed best suited to the flat object.
