The apartment building ˝Vanmeer˝ at Kaiserkai 45 is conceived as a landmark on the former harbour quay. It refers to traditional images of freight stacked on the quayside: the main body of white glass is animated by alternating storey-level red powder-coated metal cladding zones.
Those cantilever in different directions, creating multiple balconies and loggias.
˝Vanmeer˝ comprises 24 individual apartments, a penthouse including space for workshops and a multi purpose retail basement. The ground floor is arranged with 5m clear height from floor to ceiling to enable the construction of apartments with galleries or further retail units.
Apartments on standard floors have 2-4 rooms each (and range from 65 – 150 sqm) including their own pergola, always with a view to the waterfront. Furthermore there are daylighted bathrooms and kitchens connected to the living rooms via broad sliding doors in most of the apartments.
