Orang+Utan vegetarian bar is a project by two young Ukranian architects, Artem Vakhrin Zuievaere and Katya, from AKZ Architectura studio. The project was conceived and designed in close collaboration between the architects and the client, Yulia Savlepova. She got a strong vision, comparing the contemporary city to a new "jungle" where new "smart animals" look for places to fill energy. The bar had to symbolize this urban forest refuge and recreate the feeling to be in a natural habitat, with the use of white tiles to entirely cover the space in contrast with a lush vegetation. The design of Orang+Utan is unique for Ukraine. Although the architects were born after 1991, they didn’t live in URSS and feel free from stereotypes, the older audience recall the breath off soviet past in this design “The reason why it's happened is simple - in USSR was only one type of tile for everything! For hospitals, shops, pools etc.” says the architects
