Simple architecture, absolute white surfaces and the sculptural presence of a staircase dominating the living area: the purity of this space created by renovating an attic in Bergamo is underlined by the unique parquet flooring, skilfully flooded with light from the skylights. The floor is the same in the living area, bedrooms and bathroom, establishing continuity. Supplied by Itlas with a custom finish, the floor is from the Tavole del Piave collection, large pre-finished strips in three layers with micrometric joints available in a variety of different species and finishes. In this project, the client chose serrated Pinot oak, with an image defined by working the wood at right angles to the veins, enriched by greyish hues underlining the even whiteness of the walls by contrast. The material’s outstanding technical properties and extraordinary aesthetic qualities permit creation of highly functional contemporary spaces and cosy, refined atmospheres.
