The proposal H\u00f3rama Rama by Pedro y Juana (Ana Paula Ruiz Galindo and Mecky Reuss) was inaugurated at the end of June as part of the 20th edition of the Young Architects Program 2019 of MoMAPS1. The architectural installation is conceived as an urban jungle immersed in a large cyclorama located in the courtyard of MoMAPS1 and which will take place from 28 June to 2 September 2019. These are the principles behind H\u00f3rama Rama, a large cyclorama that presents a panoramic image of the jungle on a scaffolding that protrudes over the courtyard of MoMA PS1 and catapults visitors into a wild and foreign territory.<\/p>\n

The structure, almost 12 m high and 28 m wide, hovers over the space of the courtyard, redefines the horizon and places visitors in an urban jungle. The presence of this large circular structure reconfigures the courtyard into an immersive environment in which visitors can move in and out, in contrast to the urban landscape immediately adjacent to the Museum. Extending the experience, handmade hammocks in southern Mexico are placed near a waterfall. The exterior of the structure is characterized by protruding wooden “bristles” that create a sense of dynamic movement.<\/p>\n
