The Chilean Patagonia, both continental an insular, realizes the same peculiarity, distinctive and of the place: the detachment.
\nThere is disunity, separation of what had been united; the elements live in constant change. The detachments generated cracks, insulation, twists, and new tensions. Glaciers detach from large ice masses, the trees bend with the winds, the islands are living apart from the earth, surrounded by water, and the geography is a reflection of strong erosion.\u00a0In this way the work is generated from the interactions of natural forces, reflecting the evolution of its elements. The building collects and uses the elements of nature and life energy, so as to account for the characteristics of a territory.\u00a0We applied sustainable design principles which are recognized through the inner solar gain generating natural lighting in interior spaces, as in the elements of the structure that can be reused, guarantying a long life cycle for the materials used in this building.
\nWe can also notice The Water in their different phases collecting one in particular: the frozen water produces a unique single structure, recognized in that specific location. These forms are materialized on the large glass areas of the windows and the shape of the floors.\u00a0The materials used are part of Patagonia\u2019s modern history: a resistant material, flexible, economic and with low cost maintenance capable to tolerate the extreme climatic conditions.<\/p>\n
