Kaohsiung is a southern city surrounded by mountains and the ocean. After one hundred years of modernization, this tropical city has become, in recent decades, an important industrial anchor in Taiwan. However, there has always been a distance between Kaohsiung and the surrounding landscape of Kaohsiung. The designers therefore thought of a landscape installation next to the Kaohsiung port area, initiating an alternative tale of our imagination to do with nature and the surrounding landscape.

The installation consists of a 36-meter long concrete wall – in free form - shaped like a canyon with an opening of varying widths. Fog emerges from time to time, spreading from the side of the walls. Walking along this twisted and tortuous foggy path, you almost feel as though you cannot find your way out. Overwhelmed by the lack of reference points, the senses of the body regain control through the only means of communication: touch.

Outside, the concrete walls are covered on one side by a green slope and on the other by a terraced ramp with luminous inlaid stones. At dusk, the installation acts as a discreet night light for the city.
