Albano Guatti was born in Udine, Italy, in 1950. He graduated at the University of Florence where he studied Aesthetic with Ermanno Migliorini and thought as an assistent. He is a freelance photographer and since 1978 he lives between New York, where he is a permanent resident, and Italy. Guatti started his art work, in the early seventies, with experiments of visual poetry. From 1974 to 1981 he mainly was a performance artist. While producing several photographic works and installations he realized a long series of performances showed in European and American museums and galleries. Starting from 1981, Guatti is principally focused on photography works, sculptures and installations.
