F12 took the opportunity for expansion within its existing premises in The Fine Arts Academy in Stockholm for a complete refurbishment and spatial organisation by Lomar Arkitekter. The additional area allowed for a much longed-for improvement of the restaurant’s logistics and realisation of ideals. The creation of a combined bar/lounge area near the entrance provided an informal, comfortable environment for the guests to enjoy a drink or the bar menu, as well as a meetingwaiting place for the restaurant’s dining guests. Furniture has been designed to suit both. The dinning area of the restaurant serves lunch, dinner and hosts various events, therefore requiring much spatial flexibility. This was achieved through a sequence of three rooms which can be separated/combined using large printed textiles to be rolled down as required. The interior scheme is a coupling of restrained patterns with organic inspirations. The colours are inspired by the four seasons. The dining rooms are shaded in a scale of greens varying from light, tender spring till dark late-summer. The lounge/bar is given a range of browns and golds alluding to autumn. The studio kitchen and preparation areas are characterised by colder winter tones of turquoise and beige. The graphic profile extends to the F12’s collection of business card, menus, and webpage. All the built-in and movable furniture with the exception of the dinning room chairs (by Mario Belllini) are specially designed by Lomar Arkitekter. The fine arts shown in the restaurant is the result of collaboration between F12 and Wetterling Gallery, done by such world-renowned artists as Mike and Doug Starn, Diti Almog, Estell Thomson, etc. The restaurant, its renewed environment in the centre of the city, can be experienced as an ‘urban jungle’, a refined cultural space, as well as an informal, relaxed meeting point.
