This table was designed for the exhibition of drawings and models presented in Palladio’s Basilica in Vicenza, and was built by Unifor. The extremely detailed definition of this item has been a gratifying experience. The technicians of Unifor came three times (I believe to remember) to Porto, and the prototypes they brought with them were examined and improved together with them. The dimension of the table, considered sufficient for the requirements of the exhibition and the “scale” of the Basilica, is adapted to the standard dimensions of a plywood panel. The elements are united with simple means, to assure easy disassembly and transport, in accordance with the requirements of mass production. The great experience of Unifor has been crucial to the results achieved (Álvaro Siza).
