It is a single block of cement dug at the base of the stairwell that gives access to the upper floors. On the ground floor, the building is restricted to the edge of the pavement. The staircase takes on a leading role, connecting the public with the private spaces located at the top of the building that are directly connected to an open external loggia. It is an atypical and small public space, which merges with the much larger surrounding buildings, and an architecture that aims to be a firm and solid stone in the ever changing surrounding neighbourhood.

This small project by Futatsumata takes a clear position, and hides all of its technical and structural components. Everything is placed on the surface in order to make the most of the space, and to leave the outside as a pure and solid vision.
