The first B42dc has just been launched and sea trial is carrying out in Sirmione del Garda where the first pictures were taken, prior heading off to her home port in Corrubedo (Spain).
This new version of the B42 has been designed and produced following a precise design brief from her owner, a prominent architect whom previously owned a B30. Their main idea was to enlarge the cockpit space and particularly the seating area which, at this point, can accommodate 4/5 people on each side.
By doing this, the actual interior space has been reduced and the owners were happy to give up the separate head of the standard B42. Further we have reduced the coachroof size to make her more proportionate and to look more like a grown up version of the B30.
It is interesting to see that, although the B42 was originally conceived as a weekend boat, now we are more and more witnessing the search for larger cockpit size and more external comfort even on a boat of this concept.
Nevertheless the interiors are built with particular care. In place of a standard galley we have placed two Corian cover island in the back to serve as sink and fridge, while we have re-shape the forward structural beams into proper bulkheads with leather lockers in between.
This particular version feature an “emergency” electrical toilette placed under the forward bed (a curtain help to have some privacy).
With more than 60 boats sailing in 5 different continents (Europe, Asia, Africa, North America and Australia) the B Yachts concept is spreading around fulfilling the request of the purest and more sophisticated sailors together with the great pleasure to entertain guests at the maximum level of comfort.
